Tam isn’t the kind of woman that should be messed with. Because of her strict upbringing, she is a no-nonsense woman who doesn’t deal well with incompetence or mistakes. She does think she’s better than others, even other wealthy citizens of Asher. She looks down upon those who are rich because their family is. As someone who never had anything handed to her in life and had to work for everything she has, Tam believes that those who don’t work hard for what they have don’t deserve to have it. She is brutally honest and blunt. She wastes no time beating around the bush and will simply come out and speak her mind. However, she is skilled in the art of flattery and uses it to her advantage. One would think that Tam would sympathize with slaves and the lower class since she was once part of it. But instead she believes that they are lazy and waste their lives. She feels as though if she could work from being the child of immigrants in the slums of London to being a multi-millionaire in the United States, anyone could do the same. There’s nothing more that Tam hates than a lazy slave and she believes in harsh and strict punishments for even the smallest mistakes. For a quiet and disciplined woman, Tam can have quite the temper.

I have done a great deal of study on punishments and torture. But I believe the punishment has to fit the crime.

So, let’s say my slave attempted to go somewhere without my permission or sneak out. The lovely ancient Romans used to practice a form of torture called foot roasting. Can’t go anywhere if your feet are burnt. Get the idea?

I would love to go into detail about my punishment methods, but I don’t want to freak anyone out. I assure you, they aren’t for the faint of heart. I believe in harsh discipline.
